ALAN WATTS: Letting the ego go and learning to go with the flow. His message is still incredibly powerful today.
THE WORLD OF INTERIORS: The only print magazine worth collecting. It never fails to impress.
CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA: My fashion design course at Parsons required a presentation by a favorite designer; there was no hesitation. For any student of fashion, his silhouettes still inform style today.
CAROLYN BESSETTE KENNEDY: She shunned the spotlight but executed a flawless design ethos. Effortless, timeless style that mixed both Uptown and Downtown NYC.
MY NEPHEW AND NIECE: Childlike wonder before the pollution. Their unceasing curiosity and wonderment constantly challenges - and inspires - me.
KATE BUSH: On repeat. Her music has guided me through the most difficult and the most joyful times. She has no equal.
BAUHAUS: A school built on a methodical system as well as an art movement. Groundbreaking and forward thinking.
ZAHA HADID: Movement, architecture, structure. A tour de force who defined her aesthetic with an eye towards utility and beauty.
JOY DIVISION: Dark, moody, ahead of their time. Raw and emotional, they offered an unapologetic outlook on music - and life.
NYC: 11 years and you captured my heart; all of the good and bad. An experience like no other.
MOTHER NATURE: It all comes back to the great outdoors. A rare source of peace, reflection and inspiration.

JOHN TAYLOR: Fantastic style and a driving bass. John has been a source of endless inspiration.
MONO-HA: Material State of Mind. This movement has stayed with me for years; it continues to inform how I view the world.
LUCID MOTORS: So excited for this company! I can't wait to get my hands on an SUV.
AMERICAN PICKERS: Some of the things I cherish most from my childhood. I love the story of objects! The passion, the legacy, the story - I can't get enough.
TAYLOR STITCH: A wonderful clothing company.
LANA DEL REY: Someone I would love to collaborate with on a project.
VIKTOR & ROLF: A beautiful balance between form and function. The MARRIAGE line is a truly sculptural masterpiece.
ITALY: One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever experienced, the amount of history and craftsmanship is breathtaking
LAKEWOOD CEMETERY GARDEN MAUSOLEUM: A place I visit frequently; simply magnificent.
SAILING: I love sailing on Lake Superior; a place of solace and peace.
STEVEN PARRINO: A constant inspiration, someone I wish I could’ve met. His vision, courage and vulnerability I truly admire.

Ron Nagle, Artist, Handsome Drifter, 2015: There is an unknown seductive quality in Nagles work that has always drawn my attention in wanting to discover what these statement objects are trying to convey. It is an abstract statement beautifully produced and to me always remains joyful riddles.
Ronald Rael, Architect, TeeterTotterWall, Ongoing Project: Ronald Rael is an architect, activist and fellow professor at UC Berkeley. This action shoot is one of my favorite of project, #TeeterTotterWall brings awareness to the violence, disruption and female genocide taking place at the El Paso/Mexico Border. Ronald Rael - “Nearly 800 miles of wall dividing the U.S. from Mexico have been constructed. Yet, seemingly half the population of the country did not know it existed when they elected a regime leader who ran on a platform of building a wall, as if a wall didn’t exist”.
Alexander McQueen, Catwalk Show, Fashion Designer: Alexander McQueen, one of the world's most influential designers, catwalk shows have always been an inspiration to me for innovation, intrigue and ingenuity. For me Fashion week was always to see the latest art installation he had produced as a framework for his newest sculptural wearable art pieces.
Sam Rodriguez, Illustrator: Sam Rodriguez is an illustrator working in creating collaborations with graphic artists, high fashion brands and international design fairs. His work brings to me the nostalgic era of the 1980’s with a built in visual iconography that speaks to the upbringing that I had as a Mexican-American.
Jaime Hayon, Spanish Artist and Designer: Jaime Hayon is an artist and designer that has been able to create an inspiration business model. He is able to create unique pieces of work that are created specifically for mass production. Yet no matter the materiality of each object (interiors, architecture, glass ceramic..etc) his pieces are able to capture the whimsical narratives of childhood.
Lisa Lou, Kitchen: Lisa Lou, spent five years creating a large-scale Kitchen out of craft materials. I find a paradox of the female screaming from this installation. For me it is the hidden gems and narratives within the installation that make this piece so powerful. A call to arms for women across the world.
Mary Frank, Swimmer: This piece is the first abstract figurative sculpture that had an impact on me as an undergraduate. I felt the figure here cutting through the water as she broke through waves. It was at once mesmerizing and transformative for me as a young artist.
France, Saint Paul de Vence: Saint Paul de Vence is one of the most beautiful locations in France and it holds more than 200 artists and galleries. It is always inspirational to walk though the very narrow streets to discover art, artists and even local food and produce you would never discover anywhere else but France.
Claes Oldenberg and Yayoi Kusama: Rare to see these two artists in the same space. With a love for whimsy, Claes’s portrayal of the everyday has brought a soft joy to my life. While Kusama, has always questioned the factual of the everyday and created her own realities. Two artists that I have always shared a strong connection with when questioning the world around me.
Kunsthaus, Zurich, Switzerland: This museum is one of my favorites since it holds The Gates of Hell by Auguste Rodin outside its main door. I was finally able to see this piece in person in 2019, this museum is one of the most beautifully designed and amazing collections of contemporary artists, such as a large collection of Fischli and Weiss.

France, Lyon: Lyon is the capital of Food in France. Walking the food markets are raw inspiration for what can become a phenomenal meal. It is not only the cooking techniques, and culinary history here that make Lyon the capital of food - but the quality of the produce you find sourced from local farmers and markets.
